If you are looking for a 3D printer with a large print volume and at the same time precision and high layer resolution, then look no further! Leapfrog 3D printers are known for their large build volume and excellent high resolution print results. Here at 3DPrinting.com we just love to do it big but hate to sacrifice on the quality of the job.

Leapfrog was founded in 2012 when Martijn Otten heard of Maarten Logtenberg's plans to build his own 3D Printer. Maarten was not impressed by the 3D printers available at the time. He thought to himself "These printers are expensive, not as tough as they could be and you have to assemble them yourself". On top of that many frames at the time where made of wood and sensitive to moisture." He knew he could do better. So he set out to make the Leapfrog series of printers.

So the two decided to take the "leap" and three months later they finished their first aluminium printer which was known as the first Creatr.
Martijn's father also happened to own AV Flexologic, a Dutch manufacturer of machines for the flexographic industry. AV flexologic needed to produce prototypes and spare parts for their machines, so AV Flexologic invested in Leapfrog and to this day they are still Leapfrog 3D Printers’ (in-house) client.
